XOXO Downsview Fence Art Installation

This piece was created for XOXO Downsview as a celebration of public art, culture, and local heritage launched in coordination with Toronto’s Year of Public Art. It’s a part of a group art fence on the Downsview Lands and in Downsview Park. The project celebrate local artists, aim to bring people together, and highlight the history and potential of Downsview as a destination and generator of cultural works. Serene’s painting focuses on her journey of rediscovering her East Asian heritage. She wanted this to act as window for those looking to do the same. This piece encourages self reflection and is meant to help the community also looking to their roots to rediscover their culture.
