I believe what doesn’t kill you simply makes you… stranger.
Oh, how the Joker quotes can go on forever. I’ve never been a huge fan of Batman movies (all the Batman fans around the world are probably looking at me like
Yes. I know.)
But if we’re talking about the Joker, I will wholeheartedly sit through 3 hours of Bruce Wayne using his “Batman voice” and flinging his expensive toys at villains.
A friend of mine approached me recently for a commission piece that complimented the Batman piece that I completed for him last year. (The blog post for that can be found in a 100 days of creativity project I finished, which you can read here) Despite Batman not being my favorite, I had so much fun painting him. So you can imagine how overjoyed I was when my friend told me he wanted me to paint the Joker this year. Being given the opportunity to paint one of my favorite villains, along with the mood of Halloween right around the corner, got me melting into a puddle of Heath Ledger happiness.
The answer to how I managed to pull the time do this is… I have no idea. Procrastination does great wonders. Here are some behind the scenes on the painting process!
Tadaa! My version of the Joker.
Fantasy and ethereal themes are great and all, but I’ve always also had a passion for painting darker, creepy subjects. I’m going to be working on something exactly that shortly, so stay tuned!
